DE MADRID

The Technical University of Madrid (UPM) was founded in 1971 through the integration of the Higher Technical Schools which up until then made up the Higher Technical Institutes.

As set out in its statures, the Technical University of Madrid has, among its objectives, the creation, development, transmission and criticism of science, technology, and culture. To this end it also works from its Institutes and Research Centres, assimilating the changes taking place in out society and maintaining its vocation for excellence, which is why it has both national and international recognition.

Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio (ETSIAE)

The School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio, ETSIAE) is part of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, one of the most prestigious universities of the technological field in Europe. ETSIAE is member of PEGASUS, the European network of excellence including the best schools of aeronautical and space engineering. It is also part of two international networks: ECATA, a European consortium joining six aerospace companies and seven academic institutions, and the 'Belt and Road' Aerospace Innovation Alliance (BRAIA) promoted by Northwestern Polytechnical University from China, which has more than 40 members, including universities, research institutes and academic organisations from China, America, Russia, France, Belgium, Italy, Ukraine, Egypt or Algeria and, Spain, following ETSIAE entry.

ETSIAE is a reference centre both at national and international levels in the field of education, research, innovation and technological development in the space engineering. Good proof of this is the number of students enroled, exceeding more than 3,500, and an increasing demand, the 250 teachers forming the teaching and research faculty who take part both in cutting-edge research projects and as well as in educational innovation projects, different mobility agreements with top foreign universities and agreements with companies and institutions of the field to undertake internships.

ETSIAE does offer two official undergraduate's degrees: the Undergraduate's Degree in Aerospace Engineering (Grado en Ingeniería Aeroespacial, GIA) and the Undegraduate's Degree in Air Transport Management and Operations (Grado en Gestión y Operaciones del Transporte Aéreo, GyOTA) and it extends its training offer to include different postgraduate programmes: Master’s degrees, PhD studies and its own degrees offering the most complete and specialised vision in Spain of the different areas of this sector.

The facilities, located within the Moncloa International Campus of Excellence (Ciudad Universitaria), have an extension of 36,500m2, equipped with all the infrastructures and resources required to ensure the quality and social engagement, as well as talent, versatility and leadership that are key elements defining its graduates.
