Technical tours

The local organizing committee have made arrangements for a number of technical tours which are described below. The visits will take place on Friday, September 29th.  As a “first come first served” procedure will be followed for these visits, we invite you to select the tour of your preference and register through the form below.

Institute of Aviation
Description: 1. Wind Tunnel T3 - 5m Low Speed Wind Tunnel
2. Component Test Laboratory - aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, industrial installations including pipelines and automatics.

Warsaw University of Technology
Description: 1. Wind tunnel- equipped with various wind tunnels having wide ranges of the velocities, from laminar to supersonic flows. 2. Simulation Research Center in the Department of Automation and Aeronautical Systems -
There are two manned aircraft simulators and several unmanned vehicles training devices.

Airbus Defence and Space
Description: Manufacturing facilities of electric harnesses and sheet metal parts with surface treatment; Assembly lines of aerostructures for C295/C235 and A-320 aircrafts; Service center of C295/C235 aircrafts

Polonia Aero
Description: Cold Flow Turbine Test Facility - most modern laboratory of its kind worldwide for tests on new-generation engine turbine prototypes as well as technological demonstrators used in the construction of aeroengines.

Other information: Polonia Aero (lab at the outskirts of Warsaw) - 1 group (30 people max). 09:00 - 12:00. The bus will transfer the participants to and from the venue. It will leave at 9:00 from in front of ILOT

LOTAMS - LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services
Description: LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services – LOTAMS is an individual provider of full-scale aircraft services and the only Embraer Authorized Service Center in Central and Eastern Europe. LOTAMS provide services for civil aircraft fleets (for national carrier LOT) and government agencies. During the tour, all participants will be able to see basic checks ("C" or "D" checks) and visit numerous workshops located in LOTAMS.

Other information: The duration of the tour for one group is planned for about 1 to 1.5 hour. Group A starts at 9:00; group B starts at 10:30 ; group C starts at 12:00.
