Thermal management is one of the enabling technologies for next-generation aircraft with less-bleed or bleedless architectures, in support of more electrical aircraft configuration.
Indeed, thermal management needs are expected to increase by an order of magnitude for hybrid-electric architectures as well as fuel cell-based power management versus today’s platforms. Several projects are therefore addressing thermal management at different levels (e.g. component vs system) within the Clean Aviation program. Presentations in this session will include development status of such technologies, associated challenges and supporting processes deployed to successfully mature these bricks and meet Europe’s sustainable aviation objectives.
