The University of Salerno

The University of Salerno represents one of the most important scientific and cultural institutions of Southern Italy. With its 40,000 students, this modern and dynamic university succeeds in meeting international challenges while being at the same time strongly rooted in the local community. The university has grown over time, establishing itself as a reference centre for education, designed on the needs of the students and in line with the evolution of the world of work, as well as an accredited institution for the quality of its research.

Since 1988, the University of Salerno is located in the Irno valley (Valle dell’ Irno), a few kilometres away from Salerno and from Avellino. It is structured in two campuses: the main campus is sited in Fisciano, while the Baronissi campus hosts the Department of Medicine and Surgery.
